Dr. Louise Brown is an avid violist and teacher. Her own teachers included the principal violists of the Chicago Symphony and the Munich Philharmonic, as well as the renowned Masao Kawasaki. In addition to music, she loves language study, and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in both disciplines. She later completed a Master of Music degree at Northwestern University and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the College-Conservatory of Cincinnati. Dr. Brown draws from both the Suzuki philosophy and the methods of Mimi Zweig in her instruction. She regularly attends workshops and conferences to enhance her teaching. Her students are encouraged to participate in regular recitals, evaluations, and competitions.
